For the past year I’ve been learning how to DJ, not for any other reason than I really enjoy music and really admire the skill of DJs being able to mix and match and make new and interesting sounds from existing music. I got a couple established DJ friends to show me some things and took it on myself to learn the ropes. After a while I was confident enough to try and play some gigs and for the past year I’ve been playing regularly in smaller (and some larger) venues (Dirty Laundry, Palihouse, Filifera, Girl at the White Horse, Black Rabbit Rose) and events around LA (I even spun at Oprah’s holiday party).
