One man’s thoughts on trying to be a better human By Mike Falkow I should start by saying that I’ve been mulling over the idea to write this article for some time but with recent events, it became more of a necessity for me, rather than something nice to do. I’ll also preface this by […]
Some time ago, towards the end of our successful theatre run of Train To Zakopane, we filmed the play and after much work by the filmmakers, it is now complete. Here are a couple little teasers of the filmed version.

Something that I’ve done sort of “on the side” ever since I graduated High School is design. I went to a great design school in South Africa and worked at a magazine right after that, starting out as junior designer and before I quit to travel on the Pro Surfing Tour, I was head designer […]
I was fortunate enough to have the great experience of shooting a Coors commercial campaign in the stunning mountains of Colorado. I was cast as the real historical figure, Mister Coors. Here’s the first spot: Here’s the second:
I was recently in a film called The Time We’re In. It’s a beautiful story by multiple award winning writer/director, Damon Stout. The story follows Gabriel (played by me) as he figures out a way to stop time, in a effort to save his wife, Nadia, after he finds out she has cancer. I got […]

I have been privileged to be working on a theatre production of a new play by Henry Jaglom called “Train to Zakopane”. It’s a beautiful (true) story set in Poland in the 1920s, exquisitely written by Mr. Jaglom. I’ve had a great experience working with this wonderful cast and crew, and the incredibly talented director, […]
I was asked to contribute a blog entry to my friend Craig Koban’s blog for his 10th Anniversary as a film critic. Here’s my entry below. Okay. I can’t really choose my favorite film in the last ten years. That’s like asking me to compare my favorite apple with my favorite orange. There’s too many […]

The film is called “Deceived”. It’s a suspense thriller about a man who returns to his home in Puerto Rico to help his sister get her […]
I was asked to contribute to Craig Koban’s blog as part of a series of “fondest film memories” posts. Here is my contribution: As long as I can recall, I’ve had a fondness for the movies. Being transported to another time and place while sitting back in a comfy chair and being entertained, enlightened or […]
“In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in […]
I’ve been in New York City for the past few days, promoting my film “Magdalena” at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival. And while the business of doing red carpet interviews and talking about the same thing over and over again can challenging, at the same time it’s been a lot of fun and […]
I was asked to participate in a video installation for a Mercedes Helnwein art show like it. If you’re not familiar with her work, check it out here mercedeshelnwein.com The video was directed by Giovanni Ribisi, which was a great experience all on it’s own, and was in the style of a 1950s Police Station. […]
I’m either his muse or his Guinea Pig. Either way, Ray Kachatorian is one hellava photographer. He called me recently and asked if I’d be interested in doing another photo shoot with him, and I of course said YES without hesitation. We got some really interesting photos. And yes, I dressed in full drag for […]
I recently shot an episode of The Stafford Project alongside Michelle Stafford and Kelly Preston project planning tools. It was a lot of fun and I got to play a flamboyant stylist to Kelly’s Soap Opera Diva. Here’s the episode:
I booked a part on a film called “Something About Her” – starring Cameron Richardson, Anthony Michael Hall, David Arquette and some other great actors, including my brother, Cokey Falkow. I play an architect, and I was thrilled to be a part of this production. Writer/Director Carl Colpaert of Cineville is helming the project with […]
I’m proud to have been involved in this project as a producer and an actor. ‘GEEKS’ takes place in the sun-bleached environments of Southern California. It introduces us to four nerdy girls who are the best of friends but hold onto a deadly secret. They are Bounty Hunters. When they discover that an old enemy […]
Starting 2013 with a shift in representation, I’ve signed with Bohemia Group (management). For contact info please visit the Contact page.
Having a 3 year old really takes its toll on a person. You start finding humor and delight in the smallest most ridiculous things. The beauty and joy in the world once again becomes evident. Maybe it’s the lack of sleep. Maybe it’s the unkillable optimism that kids are dipped in at birth. Either way, […]
I’ve been working on a web series called The Team. It’s a humorous take on the secret agent world that takes itself far too seriously. Here’s the latest episode. I hope you like it.
I directed this short video promoting peace. It was inspired by Ronny Edry’s campaign to promote peace between Israel and Iran israelovesiran project management steps.com Many thanks to those who helped, especially Denice Duff for being my trusty Director of Photography. I hope you like it, and share it with your friends.
Internationally known South African conservationist, author, humanitarian and founder of The Earth Organization, Lawrence Anthony passed away on March 2. He was 61. Lawrence was a good friend and I truly enjoyed his company. He made me laugh with his stories of wild adventures in Iraq while saving the animals of the Baghdad Zoo [VIDEO] […]
I recently worked a couple days on the film “Safe House” starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. The film takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, and they needed some South African voices during post production project planning process. Looping is a really fun process, and you get to see how layers of voices add […]
I recently shot a film called “Stranded” – a New York Film Academy thesis film for director Nicol Dippenaar. I play a South African who emigrates to the United States and get to speak Afrikaans in the film (good thing I paid attention in school all those years). The film was shot on the RedOne […]
I recently was asked by good friend Ray Kachatorian to do a test shoot with him. You can see the images here. He was looking to do something a little different than he has in his book. Something edgy, something geared to high fashion stuff. I had a great time doing this shoot. Ray is […]
I just shot a little part in the newest of the series “Beached As: Making of” for Australian TV. Being a fan of the series myself, it was super fun, and I really enjoyed working with the gents from Beached As. I’ll post a link when the episode is available. Apparently one of the guys […]
I recently fulfilled a childhood dream by traveling on a surf trip to Indonesia. I remember being a young whipper snapper and watching hours and hours of surf footage and dreaming endlessly that my local break in Durban, South Africa was in fact the Indonesia that I saw on the surf movies. (Ah the delusions […]
I’ve recently done a few web series. It’s really fun. I did an episode of The Online Gamer for Reckless Tortuga playing a priest. I did 3 episodes of The Team for iFORKt productions, playing an MI5 team leader, and I played a German techno star in another… but more about that later.. Web series are […]
I just shot a guest star role in Law & Order LA. Season 1 episode 2. I play a guy who witnessed his family getting murdered as a child and as a result is a little loopy. Twenty some odd years later, one of the murderers is released from prison and is found dead near the beach. […]
I was honored to play a part in Clint Eastwood’s film “Invictus”. Honored? Really? Yes. Honored. Not only because it’s been a dream of mine to work for Mr. Eastwood because I’m such a huge admirer of his films, but because I grew up in South Africa and the 1995 Rugby World Cup was a big deal to […]
